A visit with the pumpkin yard ornaments once again...

Pumpkin Patch Pics

My how times have changed.

Here's our visit to the Pumpkin Patch in 2006, with our first born.

The Pumpkin Patch in 2007.  Notice there was thought in the choice of attire, great placement of child amidst pumpkins, great lighting.  Getting better at this.

Completely skipped the Pumpkin Patch in 2008 because we had a 1-week old.

Here's our visit to the Pumpkin Patch in 2009.  Again, well-planned out attire, descent lighting, fairly good picture.  I was happy we made it there in between naps with both children cheerful.

Completely skipped the Pumpkin Patch again, in 2010.  Don't know why.  Probably because I was newly pregnant and a moody mess with no patience to attempt getting a good picture.

Our visit to the Pumpkin Patch in 2011.  It was a spur of the moment, drive-by, decision.  Sister is at school.  Brandon is still in his pajamas.  There's a fabulous backdrop to admire.  Nathan is showing some kick butt big-brother skills, though.  Check him out holding up a 20-lb baby, and smiling so handsome at the same time.

I'm feeling like we might need to make another trip with ALL the children one evening.  We'll see how guilty I feel the next week or so.

Pumpking decorating time

R & N had their annual pumpkin decorating party and the kids are finally getting old enough to enjoy it. I brought our usual assortment of patterns and knives for the big people and got smart this year and bought paints. They were a hit. Much kid friendlier than the knives, but a couple of them were bummed. They opted out of the carving part so they didn't get to put a candle in theirs. Go figure.

These 4 are a hoot together. I will cherish these simple pictures forever. They're all standing behind the pumpkins they decorated.

My attempt at carving and painting...
(Yes, that is Katherine in a tutu again. Good luck putting her in anything other than that or the twirly dresses I made for her back in the spring. You can't look less than stellar when decorating a pumpkin, can you?)

Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to our local Pumpkin Patch today and got some good pictures. The story behind today was that I had to start first thing this morning convincing Little Miss Wardrobe Princess that because we were going to be taking pictures, I wanted to pick out her outfit. I made very clear that it would not twirl, BUT, if she wanted she could pick out something else for us to take with us for her to put on right after pictures were over. She was all over that and ended up packing a dress, with shoes, and her princess suitcase full of who-knows-what in addition to her baby's diaper bag. She really must not have liked the outfit I picked out.
